Electrophysiology Laboratory

When the Electrophysiology Laboratory debuted at Trillium Health Centre in 2009, consultants had been retained to help design the suite layout and select the specialized equipment. As the years passed, the infrastructure was regularly adapted, modified and upgraded as part of a continuous improvement process, learning from the patient care experience.
In 2025, the time had come for a complete renovation. Over the course of 3 months, the room was rebuilt from the ground up and furnished with all-new ultra-low-dose fluoroscopy, along with the most modern signal recording, 3D-mapping and multi-modal ablation equipment. Special attention was paid to the ergonomics of the in-room storage and the numerous consoles to ensure workflow was unimpeded yet ready access remained to everything necessary.
We are grateful to the administration and the Foundation for supporting this initiative, as the all-new Lab will serve us well until the Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital construction is complete.
